Each piece is brush finished with 5 coats of Polyurethane to give it a deep, rich, thick coat. You can put your phone on it in a upright or sideways position so you can watch videos or even if you using your camera for video calls. If you put your phone sideways you can charge your phone in this position. They come in handy for various applications, like putting it beside your bed on the nightstand while you sleep so makes it easier to find. You can use it in the kitchen if you are trying to cook up a new recipe without it laying on the counter so your phone doesn't get wet or something poured on it.
